The point of the episode was to show that every time something “bad” happened that could have been frustrating, it opened a door to something “good”. In fact, “bad” and “good” are just perceptions, and we’re better off taking the “we’ll see” approach of the farmer. That lesson was hammered home when all of the bad things led to the outcome the kids in the family wanted most.
Yes, the lesson could have been that moving is okay, but the episode was teaching a broader lesson not to get caught up in the momentary ups and downs of life. I thought it was a masterpiece. It was my favorite episode.
