Did extra resources help Utah achieve greater Heights? Of course. I’m not arguing that isn’t the case. However, all of the schools in the PAC 12 have resources. I am not sure where Utah ranks overall in terms of money and resources, but it probably isn’t in the top four.

Each part of the program contributes to success, but I think the biggest reason for their success has been coaching and culture. The stability in the coaching staff and the culture that they have developed took years to build, and has resulted in sustained success. While they were increasing their resources, they were building these things. They used those resources to augment that culture.

In other words, you can give a crappy coach all the resources in the world and it won’t matter.
