There won’t be a QB competition. It’s not a question of “who’s better, Zach or Nix?” It’s purely a question of “when is
Nix going to be ready?” If Nix is ready week 1, he’ll start. If he’s not, it’ll be a competition between Zach and Stidham to see who gets to play until Nix is ready.
Even if Zach is the starter week one, his days are numbered. And that has nothing to do with Zach, but everything to do with Nix getting drafted in the first round.
