schools allow you to apply WITHOUT a standardized test score, but for those who choose to submit a score, can you really take the test multiple times and just submit the best score?

My recollection from 25 years ago is that you could retake the ACT multiple times but that if you did, some schools would average them and others would take the newer score — but I always thought they would get all of your scores.
