Throwing out a Hail Mary on fixing the cruise control on our minivan before driving to Oregon tomorrow.

Easy 20 minute fix. Bought the $2 part. 2 hours later I’m nowhere closer to getting the module out. I’ve unscrewed both screws. One I can see is out of the hole. The other has been unscrewed, rescrewed, unscrewed for over an hour but there is still something holding it in. The module is loose but it seems like the screws are not quite released.
Anyone ever replaced this and have any ideas?
I can see the electrical connector in there and it doesn’t seem that the wires are holding anything back.
