Behind where I live in Vegas there is a canyon where I take my Beagle for a walk. We always go off the main path so I can let me beagle chase the many rabbits that inhabit the canyon. Today I heard the classic sound of a rattlesnake and looked down to see an orange snake with no patterns on it slithering in front if me from one bush to the next. I tried to see if I could bait it out of the bush but it somehow disappeared.

Can rattlesnakes exist with no distinctive pattern or are there snakes that can mimic the sound of rattlesnakes?
