As an iPhone user and a former android user, I think there are a number of
incredible android phones out there.
To me, the shame is that the primary purpose of android phones is is to serve as a surveillance device to build up an advertising profile. The second objective is to serve as a great smart phone.
Google is literally in the smartphone business to ensure they have a front row seat to monitor their users.
