The slow motion and freeze frame makes it seem more definitive/longer than it is. Cleary he had possession of the ball after the tag, but you have to have and maintain possession. The rule says you have to maintain possession. It doesn’t give a timeframe, but that doesn’t mean any possession is sufficient.
