Fans have been generating billions of dollars in profit for universities (and their employees, including coaches) for decades. We do this by buying tickets and gear, watching on TV, etc.

And now fans are expected to also pay the players' salaries!

It should be the universities paying the athletes, sharing the billions of dollars they make with the ones that are actually doing the work to generate the money.

And there should be contracts or employee agreements, and other rules concerning it so it provides some fairness. The NIL stuff just legalized all the shady stuff that was already going on.
