NY strip for mother's day. both good quality and my BIL is a more than competent cook.
The tri-tip was the overwhelming favorite. Including mine. There was just way more flavor and it was more tender.
Could we have made a bunch of ribeyes that could have been better? Possibly. But when cooking for any more than like 5 people (we had 20). It's cost prohibitive to do and would be challenging to cook each one consistently
