the boys came out soft at the plate, no barrels, three dribblers right to infielders that just had to glove and throw. The defense was worse, committing four errors, giving up six runs. The next three innings we score seven, held them to two more. Lose 7-8.
In game two the boys came out on fire. For this tournament, there isn't a per-inning run rule. We mercied the other team after two innings. There were no errors, and we hit nine straight between out 1 and 2.
In game one of bracket play, we came out just like the first game on Saturday. The boys were asleep, six errors in the first, down 8-0, didn't respond at the plate, three up three down. Just like game one the day before, we cleaned up our play, scored 13, gave up an additional six. Lose 13-14.
Both games we held a mound visit in the first, brought in the entire infield and just spoke calmly with them. They knew what the deal was.
Anybody have tips on how to get a bunch of 12 y/o's into the game quicker than me?
