It might be true of the military academies because the Academy General/Admiral Class officer is appointed by the Pentagon. Are there other systems where the ultimate authority is removed from the President/AD?
I realize many universities have Board of Trustees that can remove a president but they rarely seem to intervene, except in extraordinary circumstances.
We have a our BYU perspective that creates the impression that our university is unique. But how unique is it, if you otherwise know?
