First, my post was NOT a 4th of July joke, but I do find humor in the coincidence. Second, I said BYU is working on independent status. More correctly stated would be that BYU is working on the option of independence because that is how they see things going. Now, if there are any CB members who know about this you can feel free now to spill the beans. Since the cat is out of the bag you are no longer responsible for leaked info.

I had one additional conversation as of two hours ago and learned that yes, BYU will give the MWC until 2011. But after that time they will be fully prepared, with all the necessary contracts for TV and team schedules signed and done. They are preparing for independence status as early as the 2012 season because they predict the MWC won't be AQ and by then they'll know for sure.

How about BYU contacts with ***** ******* of espn and negotiations with the coordinators of the ******** bowl last week ? (don't expect a link for that and consider it a bone tossed to those who really know what's going on)

Keep in mind, if the B12 calls tomorrow, this is all squashed.
