So I cannot comment, but I can infer. However, the way the article was written lends itself to the story that Kyle was concerned about the capacity (reason) for Jan being there. So Liz asked Jan to leave. I'm sure others would have been mentioned if they asked more than one media member to leave.
It's a little like a boss asking someone to take care of a job, not giving them specific instructions, but clearly inferring what is to be done. Kyle just didn't feel comfortable with Jan being there. The PR person is there to make people feel comfortable. So she asked Jan to leave.
