with what I'm saying. I'm no fan of Phil Jackson at all. I think he's weird, extremely over-rated as a coach, and I have a number of other issues with him as well. I don't care to see him add to his legacy with any more championships. But when the Kobe story broke, never for a second did I think to myself, "All right! Kobe got accused of rape and maybe he did it. But that's cool because the Lakers are less likely to win the championship." In fact, I didn't think of it until just now when I was searching for an anology.

There's class and there's a lack thereof. IMO, taking any kind of pleasure in something so obviously wrong falls into the latter category.
