What's the difference?
The argument that teams beat themselves is just a way to make yourself feel better after a loss. If Utah lost, I could just say, "Well, Wynn wasn't able to get anything going all game long. BYU didn't beat us, we beat ourselves with bad play."
See how stupid that sounds? Maybe BYU didn't play as well because they weren't playing against NM, CSU, or UNLV? That seems more logical.
