the other day. I'm a commercial pilot and I fly alot with this guy and we get along ok since we're both such huge college football fans but he's really a BYU hater and pretty anti mormon. We were doing a 2 day trip not long ago and of course the whole trip we were talking about how big of changes have taken place in college football this next year. He starts ragging on BYU saying how are they suppose to be an independant when nobody outside of Utah had ever even heard of the Y. Of course I had to laugh at this statement and although I'm not claiming to be Nebraska that was a pretty ridiculous statement. So we were flying into Springfield Missouri and I said to him "I'll tell you what. I'll bet you a steak dinner that the ramper has heard of BYU". He of course agreed and when we pull up and everyone is loaded the ramper brings us up all our paper work and I asked him. "Have you ever heard of BYU"? He says "of course Brigham Young University they have a great football program". The other pilot says " well maybe for a mid major". The ramper then comes back with "well I don't really consider them a mid major they've won a national championship had a heisman trophy winner and had several all american quarterbacks". The look on the other pilots face was priceless. He didn't say a word the rest of the day and hardly a word during my steak dinner he owed me.
