Kyle Kafentzis' response to CB post about his son Austin:
A week or so ago I posted about Jordan's Freshman QB Austin Kafentzis, who is off to a great start this season. I was wondering about his potential interest in BYU and thinking there could be some bad blood in the family since his dad and four uncles went to Hawaii during the 80s. Anyway, his dad found the post a week later and responded with the following:

"RE: Anyone remember the Kafentzis family at Hawaii?

actually I can say that there is NO bad blood at all. In fact I called Lavelle about one of my nephews named Kurt Elliot to play for him in 1999 and then he ended up coming to BYU for 2 years before transfering to SUU to play baseball and football. I was leaning towards BYU in 1982 but chose Hawaii. The fact that we are Catholic played a big part back then. Brandon Doman worked my son (Austin) out this summer and did a great job with him in his camp, it was also nice to talk with Lance Reynolds after so many years. At this point all options are open and our focus is to help Austin be the best person that he can be. Having said that I root for every team in the old WAC unless they play Hawaii with one exception...My nephew played for BYU in that shootout in Hawaii in the early 2000 when Hawaii won. I was rooting for BYU. "Blood is thicker then water", as they say. Good luck to BYU for the rest of the year.

Kyle Kafentzis"

I just figured nobody would see Kyle's response on the original thread since the thread started so long ago. Austin Kafentzis could be a big time recruit by the time his HS career is over.
