I think I might chime in on this.
I believe that this has the real possibility of hurting BYU athletics for a very long time. I can't imagine any athlete that has better options ever choosing BYU now.
It will be interesting to watch now if Utah lands 8 or 9 out of the top 10 athletes in Utah every year. This next few years should really favor Utah. Can you imagine if you are 18 and you think you are a big time player? One coach is promising you a future where you play PAC 12 teams every week and one is promising you a schedule full of New Mexico States and Idaho States. Which school would you choose?
To me it's a no-brainer now.
I know it's not fair but I think BYU really screwed their fans on this. I just don't see how anyone can think Indy is better than a BCS conference.
Time will tell but I wish BYU good luck as they try to make this work. However, I think there's a real possibility that Utah really starts to separate themselves from BYU. It might just happen now a lot sooner than most fans think.
