This situation like many others raises the question in people's mind why do things like this happen? People assume that God let's things happen and could intervene to stop bad things from happening. The problem is that is why we came here is to be tested and God is not going to remove those trials as fiery as they may be. If God intervened every time someone was going to commit a horrible crime that would destroy agency and its associated consequences. One could also ask the question is there a purpose in everything bad that goes on?
