There are no real Ute fans. Just people who hate BYU
I have no problem with people (lds or non) cheering for Utah or any other team competing against mine. I don't mind some good natured football based smack talk from the rival either. I like the back and forth. But.....
I have just seen alot of Ute fans (both LDS and non) that seem to be motivated more by whatever issues they have living in a predominantly lds state, then any special devotion they have to the U of U program. I guess the rivalry gives them a chance to vent. I have seen too much nasty religion smack at Rice stadium.
