a BYU BB game on and if they won.

She’s 83, has dementia, is bedridden, in memory care, and her life is coming to a close, likely within the next 6-12 months.

She lost her husband, my dad, last June. He loved BYU BB and FB and always watched the games. She rarely watched any games while he was alive and she doesn’t have much interest now in watching games (or TV at all). But she always wanted to know who won and she’s still invested in the Cougs. I think it’s her way of staying connected to him.

She called yesterday to ask about Saturday’s game and we chatted briefly about it and I told her they have a game on Wednesday and I’d call her after the game.

Just got a call from her asking about the game today and if they won. 🙂 I’m sure I’ll get 2-3 more calls before Wednesday asking the same question.

It’s essentially the only reason she calls me now! 😄 So, we better win March Madness or else it’ll be awhile between the end of the BB season and FB season before she contacts me!

I’m going to miss these calls when she’s gone. 😢
