Mind you, not doing these things isn't necessarily evil, just not quite as ideal/righteous looking/godly/representative of a true latter-day saint or whatever as it is to be doing them.
I hear you on the cards thing. Playing cards were never present in our home, growing up, because of some obscure remark Joseph Smith is alleged to have made (I'm the oldest sibling; this and other things were greatly relaxed over the years). To this day, I can't really shuffle a deck and have largely avoided card games in social settings due to my own lack of competency, not their associated evil. Thanks a lot, Joseph.
