If we put him at the 4 and let Winder handle the ball up top play in and play out, he'd have a harder time getting triple doubles but he'd have a lot bigger double doubles and we'd be more likely to win games due to the fewer turnovers. On a team with such poor frontcourt play, having KC at the point is a "luxury" we can't afford. He's essentially our only offensive "big" and needs to inhabit the paint more than he does.
