"Harmless" is a huge misnomer
Just because taking a substance has no discernable ill effects, does not make it harmless when patients are convinced to abandon meritous treatment for their conditions. (see: SJS's patients that were given herbal remedies for their breast cancer, or his patient that almost died from a bad gallbladder because they were convinced to try chiropractic for cholecystitis.)

"Harmless" does not always equal harmless.
