some BYU extension center in Salt Lake. My grades at Dixie, SUU, were awesome. I struggled at BYU compared to my other schools I attended. Class sizes were out of control compared to what I felt comfortable with. I worked basically full time throughout all of college to get me through debt free but it killed me doing that at the Y. I went from being the top of my class to average at best. That says a lot about the students at BYU. Bright bright kids. I never considered myself to be naturally book smart and it showed when I got to the Y. I remember taking science classes at the Y where the test average was in the 50's. I could never understand why that was necessary. I hated it.
When I applied to dental school I did have someone on the admissions committee ask me about a few of my lower grades. I gave the best explanation I could give. He did say that he considered a C at the Y like a B I other universities which I appreciated. That is the good thing about BYU. It has a great reputation.
