BYU has had an absolutely bone-headed loss in each of the last 4 years. Twice to Utah.
Bronco preaches consistency, which they usually do a fine job of. If your brand is going to be consistency, you can't lose to teams you should be better than.
In 2011, BYU finished the year 33 in S&P, but lost to Utah, who finished 53.
In 2012 BYU was 12 (12!!) and lost to Utah who finished 78.
In 2013, BYU was a respectable 27 but of course opened the year with a loss at Virginia (76)
And in 2014, even with what ended up being a down year (47) BYU still manged to have an embarrassing loss to Nevada, who finished 82.
So, a big year would be nice and all, but at this point, I'd be pretty happy with not losing to a team that finished the year ranked 20 spots below us or worse.
