This is one of the things that drives me batty about the corporate world
and one of the reasons I left. Get a clue folks. As a sales guy in my role I was fabulous at finding, securing meetings, doing spectacular demos, but the details of the technical sale were too time consuming and taxing for my Type A head. Team up people to succeed together as an organization for heaven sake.

Even in my teaching job we have figured this out. If I work with other teachers I don't want to have an assistant that plays cello, I want an upper strings person to counter balance my weaker areas.

I was flabbergasted when I saw Berkshire sinking more money into the behemoth that is IBM. I have a buddy at the senior exec position that says that company is an absolute disaster. Jumping from one business plan and focus to another within half years then on to another plan months later. He said it is so convoluted that they have program on top of program with sales guys calling on top of sales guys from multiple directions in a competing manner then a turf war begins when the sale is made trying to get paid.

There is my rant for the day too.
