for all you who would rather see good BYU players leave early to go pro than to keep playing at BYU -


Would you have been happier to have Jimmer leave after his junior year?

Would you have been happier to have Max Hall leave after the 08 season?

Did you not want Austin Collie as a senior or Dennis Pitta as a senior?

Did you all want Jamaal to go into the supplemental draft instead of coming back?

Did you want KVN to go after his junior year?

...Or did you love having these guys stay in the program as long as possible because it meant it made BYU better the years they stayed and played?

Personally, I'd rather have them play at BYU because they are my favorite team, and BYU needs as many good players on their team for as long as they can stay there. To me, the new reality of all the best players in FB and BB leaving to go pro has hurt the college game, and has not helped the pro game. I'd like to see it not happen so much.

Sure, Tanner leaving early means BYU had a good season - but Tanner being really good as a junior and coming back as a senior increases the odds BYU may finally have a "special" season which BYU DESPERATELY NEEDS. BYU has had lots of good seasons- they need more than that to move the program forward, and Tanner could be that guy.
