I've heard Ty Detmer say with man to man coverage its okay to stare down a WR

where you think you have a good match up. There is no Safety help, so looking at your WR waiting for him to come open is not a bad thing. The DB is playing man up, he's not reading the QBs eyes, and no Safety help, so no concern about the Safety coming over and picking off the pass.
