Another very proper Englishman that works for me tried and even went to a Giants game in New Jersey, but just doesn't care for it. He does, oddly enough, religiously follow both local English and NHL ice hockey. There are all sorts of people out there, for sure.

The baseball instruction my children received in a random town in Germany was world-class. The local team, which was very good, imported US/Australian/Israeli college baseball players to come coach in exchange for a stipend and lodging and the local kids really embraced it. All this to say that there are strange pockets of sports weirdness all over the world.
