An LDS guy who ended up on an NBA championship team who seems to be climbing the ladder into the NBA coaching ranks. My gut feeling is that this will be another Darrell Bevell situation where he'll be like, "Thanks but no thanks." But I guess we'll see. Other prospects not mentioned:
Jon Judkins: Jeff's brother who has years of experiences coaching JC ball (Both Rose and Cleveland came to BYU via the JC route). Of course Judkins at this stage of his career is probably looking more toward retirement than coaching another team.
Brandyn Akana: Former BYUH player and assistant coach under Ken Wagner and currently on the UH staff. Like his older brother, he has a reputation of being a good recruiter and connects well with his players. He's never been an HC before so he would be a gamble.
Walter Roese: Former BYU assistant coach who played a big role in BYU landing players like Araujo and Tavenari. If BYU ever hopes to compete in the international recruiting game, Roese is a good coach for that. He's coached in a lot of different places and even taken time to be a consultant for the Jazz.
Kelly Graves: Current HC with the Oregon women's team and previously coached the Gonzaga women's team. He seems to like coaching the women so he may not interested in making the gender switch. He's in his mid 50's so he would still have a few coaching years left in him.
