The reality is that is hard to find good examples of a coach that took over a
quality program, took a nose dive, and then pulled out of it.

I doubt most coaches get a chance to rebound after taking a good team downhill for a bit. The reality is most coaches are on a short leash and if you are new to a program and have a few down seasons to start at a normally good program you won't get a chance to fix it.
