My kids 8, 6 and 4 all have a checking account (w/ debit card) and a savings
account. They receive an allowance equal to their age once a month. They pay 10% to tithing and 20% to savings. The rest goes into their checking for them to spend as they please.
They are also required to keep a minimum of $20 in their checking account to partially pay for birthday gifts for friends parties they get invited to.
