You continue overestimate the strength of the EPL once you go beyond the top six
teams, and to underestimate the strength of the second tier in other major leagues, especially La Liga.
Spanish clubs have won 9 of the last 15 Europa League/UEFA Cup titles, and 4 of the last 5. La Liga also produced 2 losing finalists during this span, both of which lost to other Spanish teams. This is a pretty good gauge of how the second tier of La Liga stacks up against the rest of Europe — especially relevant for those who may buy the BS that La Liga not very good except for Real Madrid and Barcelona.
