They don't even make sense. I have a son on the spectrum. It's part of who he is
at a fundamental level. It's part of how his brain thinks about the world and about himself and about others. You can't "cure" autism. You can, however, teach people on the spectrum how to be more socially adept, how to overcome their fears, how to be more responsible, more aware, more independent, etc. But you can't "cure" it. It's part of who they are. Autism just describes a subset of human brains and how they are wired. It's not a disease or a mental illness that one can cure.
