I'll agree with Kickstart my Heart and a smattering of others that people mentioned. But mostly it was a musical dead end, and as a trend it was deeply embarrassing - little more than transparent bad-boy posturing. And now it survives, as all awful trends must, as nostalgia.
I looked at this list there were only about 5 songs on here that I even remotely like, and 2 of them I wouldn't call hair metal. Yeah, that's how bad the output was when even the supposedly very best of the best is, if not mis-categorized, by and large terrible.
