Skill set. Tire shops are trained to quickly mount, balance and swap out tires. Maybe do an oil change depending
on the shop.

But alignments are different animal and can be difficult, especially because of rust or if the person's car has worn joints. (If you say, "I can't align it because your joints are shot, it will be $1200 to fix") then you get a 1-star review.


That said, the local shop here will do your alignment, tires, and any repairs all at one place. So those places do exist, but not at the "get in and out" chain shops.
