Some guys never live up to the hype. Others never show up. Others transfer at the first sign that the job isn't currently theirs. Others show great promise one year and then disappear the next. And this isn't just a BYU problem. Think about Tate in Arizona or O'Korn in Houston. I'd even argue that Browning at UDub never improved past the initial hype.
We once had a QB room that included a heavily recruited 5 star recruit, a 4 star, a 3 star, and a lightly recruited in-state transfer who had earned a level of hype while at USU. That QB room looked absolutely stacked.
I'm happy to see the recruiters doing their best to stock the QB room, but I'm done hyping them before they do anything, and especially before they are even on campus.
