Gerold Bright will be returning as running back. While he didn't start he saw just as many reps and had almost similar stats as their starting running back had, not to mention they also picked up Burt, and a Junior College MVP to help fill the back-up spots. USU lost their Tight End to the NFL draft this year as a junior, but Dax was injured most of the season, and the backup that played most of the season last year will be back. He had several great catches against BYU last year. The Recieving corps. lost some talent, but they picked up Mariner from Utah and return Jordan Nathan and Scavion Scarver (an all consensus 1st team all american return man) who both had significant touchdowns and yardage last season. Really the only area of concern is the Offensive line who returns only one starter. However, With USU playing the second string for the entire second half of six games, they all have significant playing time under their belts, and most of the players that are starting had offers from P5 teams.
On Defense the Aggies will be just as good as they were last season. They return an all-american inside linebacker in David Woodward. The outside linebackers and defensive line from last year will all be back. If you don't remember the guy that intercepted Mangums pass for a touchdown, yep he's back. The guy that had a strip sack on Mangum last year, yup he's back. They will be just as stout on defense.
To chalk up USU as a win would be foolish at best.
