privileges Aluxes many years ago. We had been to Cancun a couple of years before that and had some all the tourist stuff there that time. The time we stayed on Isla was a relaxation only vacation. We were getting away from a tough year and just wanted to sit on the beach.
Isla was perfect for that. The hotel had a private beach, so even during the day when the tourists were there, it was still chill. And nighttime was incredibly quiet.
Aluxes was pretty great for what we were looking for. Simple, but nice rooms. We got upgraded to have a balcony with an outdoor bathtub/whirlpool. Food was decent.
The beach and water on the side we stayed on some of the finest, softest sand and most beautiful water I've seen. It was incredible.
So, it all depends on what you are looking to do. If you want to go mainland a lot, I wouldn't stay there.
