This goes beyond being classy.
Kalani can love Utah all he wants, but he should do so quietly and keep his mouth shut. Doesn't he know that he's alienating and irritating a significant portion of his fanbase with his vocal Ute love?
The only explanation I can think of for this is that he's hoping to leave BYU for Utah when KW retires or that Whittingham will take him back as an assistant if things really go south again here.
I know Lavell and McBride were friends, but you never heard Lavell praise the Utes like Kalani does.
