own way. This is kind of how I see what happened.
There is a good chance the immediate drop is over for at least a few days. It looks like the market capitulated with such a strong down move followed by a strong up move on volume that is higher than any other day this week. The question (to me at least) was whether all the buying (specifically in the last 15 minutes) was short covering by people who didn't want to hold shorts over the weekend or new money coming in.
So, if the market rebounds for a few days, what will people do? Are there people mulling it over this weekend saying "If it can just get back to $xx.xx, I will sell it"? That's the fascinating psychology of it all.
(As a sidenote, I haven't been trading this week at all. I was long a bunch of stuff last week, but stopped out when I went to a funeral for my son's friend on Friday last week. I don't like trading these wild swings too much.)
