Not true
Some countries have been doing serologic testing. I'm not saying it's impossible, it just seems that on the range of outcomes it seems highly unlikely. The paper did not use actual data other than recorded deaths that I recall. It then showed a variety of scenarios could explain the observed deaths. In any case, they specifically showed in the same graph other possible paths that didn't involve 50 percent getting the disease. Why didn't that make the headlines?
