...year after year since he started at UVU. His first year he went 12-18, then improved to 17-17, 23-11 and then 25-10. Had he stayed at UVU instead of coming to BYU that UVU team was set to really turn a corner and was projected to become the schools first NCAA tourney team.
Instead, he came to BYU and pulled a team and program together that was on the verge of falling apart. His first season at BYU he faced his most difficult SOS yet And had his most successful season as Head Coach. Year 2 he has successfully reloaded and has put together what most experts agree is BYU’s deepest team in years.
Tbh, at this point I don’t see what there is to doubt regarding Pope as a coach.
