If I want to go to a football game knowing that I may get Covid, get in an accident, sprain my ankle, catch a cold, etc. then how is that some else's fault? As Lawrence hints, I may just as or more likely get Covid at Walmart, at home, at work, at an auto repair shop, at a gas station, or at any number of other places. All of these places have risks.
Since we are all at risk to some degree no matter where we are, each person can make a decision on how much risk they are willing to tolerate.
I like football and am willing to take the risk. If someone else doesn't want to go or to sit by me then that is their decision. The chance of anyone getting Covid at any given location is still pretty low. We know that most of the spread so far has been in indoor places such as nursing homes, hospitals, and places of employment.
It's less of a threat in the outdoors, including in football stadiums. Even so no organization, including BYU, can completely eliminate the risk of a Covid spread. A waiver of liability is easily signed or disclosed for all who enter the stadium.
Let's get ready for some football.
