Facilities and had not received at the time $128 million in state of Utah Tax money paid directly to its athletic department between 2000 and 2010 plus its upgraded stadium back then. It always cracks me up that UTE fans are so desperate to justify their value by pointing to PAC12 inclusion without considering reality:

BYU had a much more substantial program
BYU was already making more money than Utah even though the UTES were getting massive state tax-payer subsidies and BYU didn't get a dime.
BYU still has a P5 stadium and Utah is hoping to expand to 50K.
BYU has a top level P5 Basketball Arena, Baseball stadium and Other facilities, and Utah is...Utah.

BYU didn't get an invitation because BYU is, well, dedicated to observing very strict standards on behalf of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS.
It lives with it.

Puking on BYU as a UTE fan for NOT being in a P5 is like the Bully coming to the lone kid on the block along with eleven friends and pushing the lone kid.
It's unsportsmanlike.
But its also typical of Ute fans. Little egos need lots of friends in low places. If religious bigotry works for the PAC, so be it.
But on paper in terms of actual value, UTAH didn't come close to BYU when it was asked to join the PAC12.
It just had the wrong name for PAC12 comfort on the monument sign out front (Jesus Christ).
