Nat Gas Man Intervention Needed
My retirement expenses are about $2k/ month
And could even be less than that. Suffice it to say that you really need a lot less than you think. After you take away your house payment, kids, drop your utilities in half and food in less than half, the real expenditures are Medicare and travel. Don’t let anyone tell you that Medicare is cheap. It is not, my healthcare costs tripled after my wife retired. There are a lot of medicines Medicare doesn’t cover. The whole Medicare for all is laughable!

I could easily live on SS, but have deferred it until age 70. I get an 8% raise on the payout each year. I really didn’t think it would be around, but the country is now dependent upon SS so it won’t go anywhere likely ever. The way the Fed budget is set up they just can’t default

I my case I charge everything I buy to my mileage card and use the miles to travel

If you want a quick retirement guide just 25x your Dependency Rate and then take out 3% a year. That is very conservative
