My dad had to work long hours for many years to provide for us. When he had time with us, he made it count (coached
Teams, taught us to work at home, etc). But by comparison I "play" more with my kids.
In hindsight, I think my relationship with my dad was better than it should have been expected to be given the amount of time we spent together. I regard it as a compensating blessing from God because Dad did the best he could with the time he had.
