Because people fall in love with measurables. And Jordan Love had all the measurables that the NFL loves. Well,
everything except smarts. He struggles reading defenses, he struggles going through his progressions, and he makes really poor decisions. There's a reason he led the country in interceptions. He's big, strong and fast. So the NFL thought they could turn him into a great qb. Like Jamarcus Russell.
